When my husband and I moved to West Virginia and I was fortunate enough to stay at home and not have to find a regular 9 - 5 job I decided to make some Christmas presents instead of buying them. I wanted to just make a little something for my nieces and nephews because I was going back home to visit for the holidays. I decided to paint these little trinket boxes in different color combinations. I added a simple daisy flower pattern and then went from there. The insides of the boxes are painted, too. Most of the boxes also have a 'signature' flower painted inside. Of course I did something male appropriate for my nephews. I even made boxes for my own children, but just a little more special. I was enjoying making the different color combinations so much that I continued to paint these boxes. Then my daughter bought me a bunch of boxes 'to keep me busy'. By the time I was finished I had more boxes then I knew what to do with! I finally had to put this small obsession on the back burner. I started a new one, crocheting! I did the same with crocheting, too. Obsessed!! At first I made afghans for my children. Then I would just buy yarn that I liked the colors of and make afghans with nobody in mind. It's probably obvious by now that by the time I was finished with all the painting and crocheting that I was doing I needed to do something with the things that I made. I remembered a flea market that I had been to just one time and decided to inquire about the rental fees, etc., and I've been there now for almost two years!
