Then imagine our delight when we got up one morning with our coffee in hand and sleepily strolled onto a balcony to discover that we were above the clouds! The swoosh of the humming birds fill the air as they dart from one feeder to the next! Our beautiful Esperance bay is named after the first frigate to enter these waters, whilst the surrounding Recherche Archipeligo honors the second vessel.Voyages in those days were perilous and unfortunately neither Captain D'Entreccasteaux or Captian Huon De Kermadex survived the voyage home to france.However their contributions to the discovery of this partiualr coastline lives on. | ||
