Early in 2009, Keith, Cindy, Tader and Jerilyn Masters made the decision that it was time for MasterSbilt to take their new Gen-X design chassis on the road. They were looking for a driver that could team up with Ray Cook and the D & R Race team and travel with the Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model series in 2009. Although several drivers applied for the job, when it came down to choosing a driver, only 1 person had what they needed. 2 weeks before running the race at Screven in South Georgia, Tader and Jerilyn had a meeting with Don at a local restaurant and the decision was made. The main obstacle we had at the time was we didn’t own a hauler. Jerilyn got on the phone with long time family friend Buddy Massengill from Yulee, Florida, and with the help of Hanzo Logistics and Racing United Marketing the problem was solved.
